We have been rolling out the next phase of the Hywel Dda University Health Boards Solar PV Programme. The PV programme has empowered Hywel Dda to become one of the leaders in installing renewables in Wales and is funded by the Spend to Save Scheme from the Welsh Government.
The 120KWp PV system was installed on the main building with beautiful views over Aberystwtyh.
The project was completed over a week days with the Bright Spark team working around the requirements of the Hospital and being sensitive to the ongoing COVID situation. The height of the buildings were an issue so we were supported by a number of local contractors to lift the panels and equipment onto the hospital roof.
Some facts and figures about the project:
- 120KWp (263 JA Solar Panels) Installed on an East West Orientation
- Estimated annual output of 113,000 kWh of clean electricity to subsidise the electricity costs of the hospital.
- Estimated six-year payback on the initial investment with a 25 year lifespan
