We thought we would share one of Bright Spark’s recent Solar PV projects as many of you will be considering ways to save money, save energy and reduce your carbon footprint, especially with energy prices as they are.
Project Brief:
Bright Spark were asked by Mr and Mrs Nugent to design, supply and install a Ground Mount Solar PV system with Battery Storage at their beautiful farm in Tiverton, Devon.
The owners wanted to significantly reduce the farms electricity usage during the day and store any excess Solar Energy generated for the evenings. Our job was to design a system that would meet and exceed all of the owners requirements.
Design and Installation:
After visiting and surveying the property we designed a system that would provide enough Renewable Energy to run the electrical appliances in the house and store any excess energy into a battery to be used at night time.
The technical design included:
- A 4.5KWp Solar PV System (JA Solar)
- Installation of 7.0KWp Battery Storage Solution
- Solis Wifi Dongle for remote monitoring
- Installation of 32 smp Rolec EV charging point
The Solar PV System with Battery Storage was designed to save money by reducing energy from the grid and reduce their carbon footprint. The quotation was evaluated and agreed by the owners who were excited to get the installation underway.
The install was completed over a week and there was minimal impact to the owners and house during this time. However, the great British weather had other ideas and lets just say It was a very wet and windy few days for our Exeter Solar PV team.
We also installed a 32 amp Rolec EV Charging Point which allows the owners to fast charge their electric vehicle in the comfort of their own home.
